Here is how I do it.

Get the car (Preferably NFS4)
Get a program that can open viv files.
Extract car.fce and car00.tga
Import car.fce into ZModeler 1.07b
Save it as a Z3D, this step can prevent random crashes (also force software)
Delete all dummies
If the wheels are the same front & back, delete :HLFW and :HRFW
Rename :HRRW to wheel-r.prm0 and :HLRW to wheel-l.prm0
Deselect the wheels and click "select all" to select all body parts
Go to "create" on your right, then "objects", then click "UniteSelect"
Go over to one of the grids and click and wait for it to turn red, then click again
Rename it to body.prm0 (0's are so ZModeler doesn't give an Unknown Level of Detail error)
Save the Z3D: In the objects menu, it should now look like this.

wheel-l.prm0
wheel-r.prm0
body.prm0
Save the Z3D, then delete the 2 objects that you are not going to convert yet.
I do body.prm first.

I say look at The Me and Me's tutorial, it's way more detailed and actually makes sense, it doesn't matter that it has dead links, that is where I learned how to convert cars so I think you can do the same! Maybe...

Do you see that objects box?

All of the files you don't need are labeled "Dummy", right click and delete each one.

The objects bar in ZModeler.
There is only one version of VIV Wizard.

Weird error. Did you try to import the VIV file? Ya can't do that!!!!!!!!!

You have to extract the FCE file from the VIV file with VIV Editor or or NFS Wizard.

ZModeler can only open the actual (FCE) mesh file.

were can i get that editor?

http://www.nfscars.net/file/view/highstakes/5204.aspx

Launch it, then look for the viv file that you want opened, then it will show all of the files inside it. You extract car.fce and car00.tga

VIV files are like zip files, except that they are exclusive to Need for Speed.
They contain multiple files.

And beware, if you have a non-Windows 98 system, ZModeler is VERY prone to crashing.

to use rvshade :)
first i create a shortcut of rvshade called rvshade command line then i type
"C:\Program\Acclaim Entertainment\Re-Volt\rv minis\rvshade.exe" RVSHADE n body.prm 200 200 200 in goal and then i launch rvshade is that right?

The prm in question has to be in the same folder as the RVShade for you to type it like that.
Here's how I do it!
Make a txt file in Notepad, type:

Code: Select all

rvshade.exe body.prm n 200 200 200
and rename the extension to ".bat" and click on it and it should do the job.
I made a whole batch file set to do EVERYTHING for me.
...and if all is in the same folder, it should work.
And also use rvcenter, because I didn't on my first cars and, that isn't a good thing.

You use rvcenter like this:

Code: Select all

rvcenter.exe body.prm
same thing, type a text file with that in it and save it as .bat!

Well, if its smaller then 37.80MB then its a virus or incomplete .exe or archive.
