Hi,

I found some free 3d models on the net but they have a lot of polys.

Is there a way to reduce them in 3d max ???

Yes dood you can optimise a model in max with the optimise mesh tool or poly chop tool. You will lose detail the more you chop but it can work. I prefere to have a real good look at the model and then re make it with less polies, this is a far better option for use with RV.

If you are not fully up to max editing then Poly chopping it is your best bet.

Just make sur that you collaps the model into 1 object ( utillities panel, collaps to single mesh ) And then right click the model and convert it to an editable mesh.

Select all of the polies in the poly mode (the red square) and click on the more button at the top of the edit menu. In that list will be the optimise tool. Dont go to mad with the amount of optimisation at first, just take it a step at a time untill you have the desired look as well as poly count to suit your needs.

hope this helps...
