Anyone know if throwback's release of Re-Volt will have any new features, support newer operating systems, or have better multiplayer? Because if not then they could have just released it right now, so I have to wonder...

If I remember correctly, Acclaim did make a Re-Volt 2 for playstation...and it sucked (Compared to this game anyway).

No. When Acclaim started to make Re-Volt 2, They changed it,s name.
