The playstation version of re-volt? Each cars have a .pal and a .bin texture file but i cannot see the texture itself with any image viewer that I've tried.

This is something google can't answer heh.

Format is very weird and exclusive, only on PS1 Re-Volt. But i found something similar, although can't test, but it can open bin textures, so you should give a try (if you not already). I know, its for different game (Monster Truck Madness 2): http://mtm2.com/~mtmg/utilities.html

Good news! I managed to open .bin file, but its nothing interesting cuz its greyscale. I believe .pal holds color for .bin files.
BTW, that .bin file is actually a .raw file.

Bad news! I couldn't managed to open/view .pal files they are in different format (non standard), that means i can't see color for .bin textures.

Anyway, how to open (.bin only):
1. Download this. (TOOL IS NOT BY ME!!!)
2. Rename any file with .bin to .raw extension.
3. Open downloaded file.
4. Push "Convert RAW to BMP" and select your .raw file.
5. There are few options now:
-- 1) If you're opening a car ("TEXTURE" or "ZTEXTURE") select Height: to 128 (should come at default).
-- 2) If a track ("GFX" or "MIP") select Height: to 256 (if "MIP" - 128).
-- 3) If "EXTRA" or "CARDFRON" (some tracks have it) select Height: to 64 (should come at default).
|- 4) If "CARBOX" select Height: to 572, if "TEXTURE" to 512 (only Frontend have these).

You can also try open these with IrfanView, but you will have to "play" with available options.

Enjoy! ;)
