Well, well, well, another track related bug which is introduced in LATEST rv1.2a12.1225 build. Simple instructions:
1. Download and install this track.
2. Run game (with a12.1225 version) in fullscreen and launch that track.
3. When starting race, hold accelerate and left buttons (tried with Toyeca).
4. ???
5. Restart PC (if Windows XP or older) (80% chance that you will need)
6. PROFIT!

Tested on v1.1 + WolfR4 and v1.2 a12.1102 - DOESN'T HAPPEN. Whats even more funny? It doesn't crash on windowed mode (talking about LATEST build), tried to produce it like 100 times...NOTHING.

The only bad thing I found is that "simplroad1.inf" is not a simpe ascii text ...

How did you know? Well, it didn't do anything bad for game (tested MANY MANY MANY times) so I guess it's worthless to modify. Or I'm wrong?

Not for me. I think it asks now on Windows 8? (As i heard u have win8) Not very useable, I will convert if I won't forget, but as long as it doesn't do anything, whatever.

The -noforce command isn't working, causing the game to crash when using a controller with FFB or rumble function.

Fixed now.. I got this bug both in fullscreen and windowed mode. It was actually a problem with the collision code (when the car falls into space) that was there since the beginning. Not sure why it happened only in specific cases but crashes like these are always somewhat random.

@Cat: Ok, I'll added the missing -noforce and -nostars command lines for the next release.

So, V1.2 has grown well in both beauty and function. There are only three points left that still prevent me personally from switching from WolfR4 to V1.2:
• The rigid cam (new F1) has buggy code. I once exited the game while being in rigid cam, and now each race starts with rigid cam and F1 doesn’t work anymore. F5 and F6 work, but F1 doesn’t.
• Something (in the route-finding code?) still messes up the car AI behaviour sometimes (sudden sharp countersteer happens). It’s most noticeable (and most catastrophic) in slippery curves.
• AI graphics are not shown anymore or are shown incorrectly (zoomed out?) with -gazzasaicar switch. This prevents AI tuning in some cases, because I can’t see what track section I’m in and where the actual racing line is.

Well, as I wrote earlier:
can't set numpad! ENTER key to anything for Player1
Huki, just let the player set the key he pressed and clear the field where it is currently used, pleeeease. This is so easy!
Then as I wrote about some options:
  • The "Screen split" option doesn't saves when you exit the options menu or the game.
  • Sound is "twitches" sometimes in a bonnet camera mode, mostly when I go into the skid.
  • The "Music volume" and the "Music on/off" options doesn't work.
These options still doesn't work.

About music volume not working, it's pretty known problem which was asked earlier [older posts] . Strangely, it happens only on vista/7, dunno about 8. While on XP and older, it works perfectly.

About Music on/off, I don't know why it's not yet fixed. It can't be operation system, because it doesn't work for me as well (Windows XP) and as I remember, it worked on older v1.2 builds.

I suggest the Removal of the JOKER cheat at least in 1.2 only mode to put an End to the unfortunate facts happening in the last weeks related with Abc ruining online races in RV House.

We know that in chat he is annoying but not a real threat. He is only a threat when he late joins and uses Joker to change all drivers' cars. Very annoying situation for all.

Putting him on Global Ignore List was not effective since he's still able to join any race he wants by IP. We must find a different solution to prevent this problems in the future and I think remove Joker is the most effective. This way he can join if he wants, but not ruin our races.

Are NOT solutions:
Removing Late Joining.
Removing Joining by IP.
Removing Changeling.
Removing -dev mode.

Because when used properly and with well-intended reasons, all these are helpful features.

I'm saying that 3rd time now and last (because It's easiest to see here for patch devs, than in other topics), just make an option to block -dev versions to join room, that's it. Without -dev mode, he (Abc) can't ruin races. Main problem is that he's using JOKER cheat, we know that it works only on dev mode (and other in game cheats of course, unless entered as name).
So if this would be available, he would get off much faster, cuz it would be boring for him. His main plans are to ruin races (rooms) and also control them to his taste (at least cars).
Bad guys... <_<

@Platform: No comment. Who the hell cares, if he's playing offline or not.

Ok, last bs post about that idiot (Abc) from me.

Duh, I found out why the rigid camera was not working for me. I’m sorry, it was my fault. It works fine, but in -gazzasaicar mode you need to hold Ctrl for some keys, and I had Ctrl+F1 assigned to something else (globally). I reassigned the camera to e.g. End and it works now <apologetic smile>

Bug report time.

I have a friend that started to play Re-Volt again a few days ago so he's completing the cups but when he reached the Gold Cup exactly in Toys in the Hood 2 he finds this problem that the cars get repositioned several times in the track like this:

Also take a look at the radar. It shows he's first but there are cars in front of him.
The specs are: good revolt installation, same as me from the original CD, updated with Re-Volt 1.2 1225, it happened in Championship mode, RC Junior difficulty and using Panga TC / Evil Weasel car.
No custom cars installed, maybe a few common tracks like Venice or Rooftops.

He can reproduce it anytime, this thing keeps happening.

I tried to reproduce the bug myself but I can't make it, don't know what's wrong with the AI here.

I recently started playing revolt again after about 2 months. I feel that there is a drastic change in the collission even though there has been no new updates.
I quit using the 1102, but came back using 1225 and the weapons are way too powerful (rockets especially).
This applies to the multiplayer scene, and Im not alone about having this feeling that something is different.
Please bring the old collision system back.

I completely agree. The impacts are way too different from what we used to play in 2011. Even those small fixes that u've made have changed the gameplay soo much that it's not so fun to play online. Many players ragequit every day from rooms because we feel the same reason: The collission is so different from the original game that we loved.

This applies to:
Weapon Impacts are much stronger.
Car-per-car crashes feel completely different. You get pushed and your car is "stopped".
And also the Contact with the Surfaces, for example when Wallbouncing, the car sticks to the wall.

Also I think the way that this 1.2 handles lag might be different (correct me if I'm wrong), but in laggy races the shockwaves are multiplied, you are sent to fly 3-4 times instead of just one and that is just no fun nor fair. Also the star, even in no lag races if 2 people tried to get the star in almost the same moment, they both get the star.

Please it would be nice if you just reintroduce exactly the collission that was in Beta 0208 for example, at least for next build, so we can test precisely if there are changes or not like you say.

Yeah the collision is totally broken, for example if I push other cars from the sides my car will somehow stutter back and forth this bug is nonexistent in any acclaim releases.

Oh and I'm not talking about simulation I'm talking about arcade the mode that everyone and their grandma uses.

However like I said a million times the only bugged collisions that are present in any re-volt version on all modes except simulation are panga's and bertha ballistics which is incredibly huge especially on the sides. Its like the wheels are double the size. or something.

Anyways In a few weeks or so I am finally getting a new pc so yeah I won't be here anymore. ;)

P.S Sonic and all stars racing transformed seems to be the new "re-volt" on pc now.

Tried already and got bored pretty fast. It also runs quite bad even on good PC's. Bad port maybe. Probably it would be more fun on multiplayer. But I liked 1st game more.
