Suppose you have a track. The track itself is blank. You have two instance files, one containing the track body and the other containing the terrain. Combined, they're 25000 surfaces. RVGlue only supports 16000 solid surfaces. However, the terrain data is assigned to use the 'nocoll' setting so that it has no collision data. If that's the case, will it assign all the solid parts to the track instances before it starts complaining about the terrain instances which breach the 16000 limit?

Combined, they're 25000 surfaces.
You mean they are 25000 polygons (faces), true?
RVGlue only supports 16000 solid surfaces.
RV Glue supports more than 16000 solid surfaces. The Re-Volt engine doesnt.
However, the terrain data is assigned to use the 'nocoll' setting so that it has no collision data.
How did you assign a nocoll setting to a .fin file?
If that's the case, will it assign all the solid parts to the track instances before it starts complaining about the terrain instances which breach the 16000 limit?
Yes. Let's say you start glue the racing line (track body) & afterwards the terrain. Then RV Glue will glue everything into the w-file & ncp file. And it doesn't matter if both are over 16000 polygons. RV Glue does its work correct, but it will give you a warning about that Re-Volt only supports 16000 solid polygons.
This doesnt mean that the new ncp only have 16000 polygons. But the Re-Volt engine will ingore all polygons after it loaded the first 16000.

I hope that answered your questions ;)

there are no patches. u can download instances online...
this site has some: http://www.freewebs.com/revolt_f1/kitsandprms.htm

make sure .prm are inside of level/user### folder for instances to work.

you can make your own intances if you cannot find what you want online by using

zmod. heres link http://www.zmodeler2.com/?mode=dl&ID=3
or any other free 3d modeling program.

i think it's best for you now to stick with finding instances online.

heres 2 more prms pack found on rvzt:

READ!!!!!!!!! i now think we have sent you every single help file we could find to you.

http://rva.sportplanet.gamespy.com/tuts/mig/defin.html

read, read, read. read everything before you try to make a track.

BASIC LEGO go into track editor, place 'start grid' modual anywhere on grid.

here's some helpful keys

ARROW KEYS=move pieces to desired spot on the gird
SPACE=rotate moduals
X-slope modual up
Y- unslope?!
PAGE UP= elevate modual
PAGE DOWN=lower modual
T= changes surface b/t carpet and wood.

i cannot remember key to rotate screen to get different views.

dont forget to add the nice pickups.

save track and export track.
you can now race your track

LEGO EXTREME so now you wanna add object and instances to your track?
how to enter world of makeitgood!

READ FIRST PARAGRAPH HERE:http://rva.sportplanet.gamespy.com/tuts/mig/defin.html
NOW CHECK OUT THE 'OBJECT' AND 'INSTANCE' LINKS. READ EVERYTHING THERE.
