Well, since i play Gran Turismo(some of you might too...),i thought we could make/convert Gran Turismo tracks into Re-Volt,like High Speed Ring,Test Course, etc.

Just 1 problem:POLYGONS!!!

If ADX's RV Mod is released,we might have a chance.

Who's intrested?

:D

We are all interested, who wouldn't be ?

Is it possible now, do we have to wait for yet another proposed idea to pysically manifest itself ?
Know the limitations, do the calculations and give us a factual answer of how feasibly possible it is.

I like any tracks that I can race my real-life cars on and actually feel like I'm racing a real-life car.

Umm, no the track formats won't load up in ZModeler at all... I thought they'd just be in the same mesh format with a different name. Seemingly that is not the case.

Sorry.

Isn't there some way to tweak the tracks into a Zmodeler-friendly format before loading it into Zmod?

I would have thought that it might be able to be imported into 3D Max and exported into another usable format.

No - Yes ??

Wishful thinking, at best.
Use logic and re-read what you just stated. It made no sense.

Now... to Manmountain:

The deal is, well, think about it... The GT2 car importer is a one-off experiment (even Oleg admitted it somewhere on his boards) and is very incomplete, especially since it don't detect UV maps or anything.

GT2 is only one way, and that is out... it's impossible to hack anything back into it, so, there's no point in making plugins... and well, no support for the game is really around... except for the lone c?o format import in ZModeler.

Games like NFS can be modded to so it is much easier to convert and much more hacker support is around.

Manmountain, do you go out of your way to rub people up the wrong way?
Give it up with the "do we have to wait " stuff will ya, there is no need for it.
Coz I know what your having a go at.
Back in the days before you were here and the community was really busy we would all help each other if an idea came up to find a solution. Now days one person has an idea to chase up and every one else sits and waits, this isnt good enough we should all help to find a solution.

Yes indeed, it's my sole purpose for living. :P

Get real man! <_< I ain't having a go at anything.

I am just as sick as you of people not offerring a solution and just waiting, but I am just as sick of people suggesting an idea without a clue if there could be a possible solution.

As to what I myself can bring to the table, it's very little indeed, and I have stated such in the past. So yes, I guess I will be waiting, sorry.

There's a Racer/MM2 version of Trial Mountain. go to MM2X.com to get it and convert it.

converting a whole track into re-volt is impossible?
maybe just cloning it
but
problems with polygons???

But what about UV mapping and polygons?

Forget what i said about polygons.
It's under 16000 polygons;that's cool!
Maybe there is a chance.
And it's 3970 Meters,but for RC cars? :o

Beijing (by hil) is based on a Midtown Madness 2 converted track so, i suppose there's a chance. Also, there's a Grand Valley for Racer.

I would rather play original tracks because they are original, than converted tracks because they are converted :P

But that's your choice ;)

not really
3.000 miles or more for a re-volt does not exist (crash or something/bad AI etc...)
so that would mean however can this track be long, it won't be longer than 2.000 miles
so...

isn't 3.000 (three-thousand), is 3,000 (decimal)

I think you guys mean 3,000 meters. And maybe somebody could make a track that long. I got to 2774 meters once in a track.

you can't 'AI-node' a track like that

What i can suggest to make the track a bit shorter is sizing it to a more realistic size relative to the RV cars's size.

Uhh,no thanks. ;)
I've reached 3499m with the Lego Editor and no AI missing...
Trial Mountain is 3970m with 14770 polys.
But how many meters is it for RC cars?

if its 3970 meters in gran turismo doesnt mean its 3970 in revolt, they have different scales. And if you ever get it into revolt you can just scale it..

I tried Trial Mountain on Midtown Madness 2...It's just terrible.
The top of the tunnels are...uhh,yeahh...and there is alot of space wasted outside the track,it's grass.
But hey, let's wait till the final release,it's an initial after all...

That track was modeled from scratch, you try to do better. And don't tell me that's a bad argument.

I wouldn't even attempt to convert a track from that game, so many texture sheets, so many polygons... it'd be hard.

Some crazy person could do it, but I'm not crazy enough to do it.
